Daniel and revelationCara’s Biography
Hi, my name is Cara Elysse Dewsberry. I am sixteen years old and a Junior at Fountainview Academy. I was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. In 2000, my family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where we lived for about 4 ½ years in an older neighborhood near Garden of the Gods. Just 3 ½ years ago, my dad’s work brought us to Eureka, California, and we now live in a little cabin nestled in a Redwood forest.
I am an only child, but have three cats and two dogs to keep me company. My mom has been a nurse, stay-at-home mom, and now part-time secretary at my dad’s appliance repair shop. My dad has done a variety of things in his lifetime, most recently being a computer network engineer, and presently owning and managing Coastal Appliance Repair. I have been home schooled from 1st through 10th grade with both my mom and dad as teachers. I have played the piano for nine years and have taken violin lessons for 3 ½ years. If I could play one more instrument, I think it would be fun to play the harp.
I really like music, especially classical and Celtic. One of my favorite piano pieces is Claire de Lune by Claude Debussy. I also love to read. History stories, mission stories, and stories of tried-and-victorious Christians are some of my favorite things to read. The book Endurance, the story of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s amazing voyage to the Antarctic, is one of my favorites. I also really like National Geographics and am currently trying to read my way through my dad’s collection. I also like to use my imagination, and sometimes I draw, even though I am not very good.
I can be very shy or fairly outgoing depending on which I choose to be (naturally I tend toward the shy side). I am usually a private person and like my own space. I have grown up an SDA Christian and desire to keep growing in my personal relationship with God.
I basically like all my schoolwork, but last year I especially enjoyed history, literature, and chemistry. I am not exactly sure what I want to do with my life, but I do have an interest in interior design and decorating, and I like organizing (maybe I will go into business?).
Some of my goals are to learn better submission to Christ, learn to witness more effectively for Him, and simply to grow into a more godly young woman.
I hope you enjoyed reading a little bit about me, and God bless!
~ Cara ~
